The Norse Religion refers to the traditional religious rituals and beliefs practiced by the Scandinavian people in pre-Christian times (around 1000 c.e.). it was more a folk religion than an organised religion and was concerned with nature and the regards of society.
The Norse Religion was a cultural occurrence, and the Norse people did not have a name for their religion until they came into contact with others outside the religion and/or competitors. The Norse gods and goddesses were appreciated and loved by the Vikings. The Vikings came mainly from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Greenland. |
